Misha multicultural Festival

According to UNICEF, more than 1 billion children are at risk of falling behind due to school closures because of the spread of COVID-19.

When we heard that DCSS was closed because of COVID-19 pandemic, we thought we should do something to support Davao City Special School (DCSS).

The idea Misha multicultural Festival came out of the concept of “Interregional cooperation for educational development among 3 Regions, Hamamatsu City, Yokohama City and Davao City”.

We expect many of children in the world are represented in the 3 regions who  who have struggled to learn during school closure in other areas.

We held the 1st Misha International Multicultural Festival 8 years ago, and now we are happy to announce that our 2nd festival is to be held this year. The theme of the 2nd festival is “Together in Harmony” .

After school closure, many countries have been implementing remote education programs to keep children learning. However, many of children in the world, two thirds of school-age children, lack internet access.

In Davao  city, Philippines, DCSS fuctions  during the Covid-19 pandemic as a center to promote remote learning. The  donations and sums raised at this festival goes toward to DCSS.
